The BeeAware program identifies, describes and explains the importance of pollinators in our natural, built and agricultural environments. The program offers a hands-on experience into native bees and other pollinators, as well as the agricultural significant european honey bee.
The hands-on part of the program allows students to rob a hive (without the stings) and make a healthy honey smoothy while learning about the complex organisation of the social bee world.
Furthermore, students will use their creative minds to create a “pollinator hotel” out of renewable materials and then find an appropriate location for it within the schools grounds.
